The design of this home directs its inhabitants' attention to the interior of the site, and in a few key spaces, on the landscape. On a long, narrow and flat site, the design implements a bold, linear organization to capture the interior of the property for private use. Two bars of spaces line the edge of the property, creating a void within, a courtyard. Two foot deep mahogany walls mark the transition between formal elements of the house and extend outward to connect interior spaces with the courtyard and lake to the west of the property.
